Product: Bare Minerals 4.0 Eyeshadow in The Truth

Price: $30 from Bare Minerals

Product Description from the Website:
bareMinerals READY Eyeshadow provides exceptionally vivid, long-wearing color in an ultra smooth, silky texture for effortless application and seamless blendability with four shades that create multiple looks. Powered by our proprietary SeaNutritive MineralTM Complex along with powerful antioxidants, cold-pressed borage oil, caffeine and cucumber-ingredients known to deliver anti-aging benefits including reduced look of puffiness and antioxidant protection for a softer, smoother, revitalized eye area. It looks like a powder but feels like a cream and delivers a beautifully smooth application of vivid, long-wearing color.

The Truth featuring Serendipitous + Magnetism + Fate + Apropos (delicate peach/brushed taupe/light mocha glaze/twinkling espresso)

My Thoughts: This quad is on par with the other Ready Palettes that I have but it doesn’t get much love from me since it is very neutral. The Truth is smooth and very pigmented. If you are looking for a small neutral palette this is a good choice. Swatches are over bare skin.

Product Description from the Website:
bareMinerals READY Eyeshadow provides exceptionally vivid, long-wearing color in an ultra smooth, silky texture for effortless application and seamless blendability with two complementary shades.

The Vision featuring Illusion + Mirage (sea mist/deep lagoon)

My Thoughts: This is one of my favorite Bare Minerals duos. These 2 colors blend together so flawlessly and create great eye looks. If you were just going to pick one duo it would have to be this one. Swatches are over bare skin.

Product: Buxom Color Choreography Eyeshadow Palette in Belly Dance

20120520-164620.jpg

20120520-164629.jpg

Price: $36 at Sephora
Product Description from the Website:
A five-shade palette of vivid, show-stopping eye shadows.
What it does:
Steal the show with spectacular, high performance Buxom® Color Choreography™ Eyeshadow. This versatile palette offers a range of finishes from matte to shimmer in a multitude of alluring shades, including a vivid pop of color. Mix and match the creamy, rich, blendable shadows. The options are endless—let your imagination run wild.
What it is formulated WITHOUT:
– Parabens
– Sulfates
– Synthetic Fragrances
– Phthalates
– GMOs

My Thoughts: I adore the colors in this palette but the pigmentation is just not there. The description on the website says that they are “vivid, show-stopping eye shadows”…well they’re not. I still like the palette for softer looks but I definitely do not think that it lives up to the description. Swatches are over bare skin.

I can’t say that I recommend this palette based simply on the fact that it does not live up to the claims. I do think that it is a nice palette for a softer look.

Product: Fyrinnae Conjuror Arcane Magic Eyeshadow

Product Description from the Website: Rich burgundy-brick shade topped with shimmer that changes from aqua to bright crimson, depending on proximity to light or angle.

My Thoughts: I love everything from Fyrinnae and Conjuror is no exception. Their description for Conjuror is spot on and the aqua shimmer comes alive in the swatch below. My swatch is over Darling Girl Glitter Glue.

Product: NARS Eyeshadow Duo in Rated R

Price: $34 at Sephora

20120518-221356.jpg

20120518-221403.jpg

Product Description from the Website:
What it is:
A mini mirrored compact featuring two crease-proof NARS eye shadows in modern, complementary shades.

What it does:
This long-wearing, crease-resistant formula is uniquely paired in dazzling and creative color combinations, expertly coordinated by François Nars. Worn together or alone, these shades are richly pigmented and can be applied sheer or built up for a more dramatic effect. Used wet, these shadows also double as eyeliners.

My Thoughts: This duo is freaking amazing and beautifully pigmented. I have only had one other NARS eyeshadow before and ended up not being very impressed with it but when I swatched this one in Sephora I knew it was a must have for me. These shadows feel amazing and while I feel that they are worth the price tag I will say that it is probably the color combination that makes me feel that way. If you have had a NARS shadow in the past and didn’t really care for it then you should give them another try! I’ve already added more duos to my wish list. My swatches are over bare skin.
